Post more times?
My midsummer resolution was to post to this blog, which is different than my company blog, a few times a week. I guess I’m not that interesting. That and I just get burnt out see the same shit reposted on the 7-1/2 bike culture blogs that I read in a matter of 30 minutes. But what is interesting is kittens.

Volkswagon's Electric Scooter baby
Volkwagon Cars will now have scooter babies that nurse off the trunk. Pretty swell design if you ask me. If it came with a remake of the VW bus that would be even cooler.
The range is 12 miles and it has a 12.5mph top speed. Too bad it can’t be pedaled too. Toss a belt drive on there and some sort of internal shifting in the bb and it will rock. Maybe Dahon will take some design...
Two blogs are better than one right?
So now that the Baron site is all fresh and clean, it has a new blog to go with it. In my feeble attempt at a blogging career, I was always faces with an ongoing issue; content. So I have a bike business, and that generates content that relates to said business. But I am also a designer by schooling and I surf the web on occasion and take picture and race bikes and go out etc. Where does all...

Pedal Party
Baron Bicycles and Go Means Go will be presenting a evening of good times designed to bring cyclists together after the Cascade Bicycle Club’s Seattle Bike Expo on March 13th.
After a full day exploring the largest consumer based bicycle trade show in the US, join us for some food, drinks and bicycle trivia at one of Fremont’s hottest new spots- 9 Million in Unmarked Bills.
We will be...
I5 Colonnade Park with Transition
Go Means Go alerted me to a video my friends from Transition up in Bellingham filmed at our very own colonnade park. The park is one of the best examples of the city working WITH user groups to create something that makes everyone happy. Where else can you let you dog poop out of the rain AND watch people rock some x-up’s and back flips in the flow area. It also has a beginner section for...

How to Cross Tracks
After living in San Francisco for a while you get used to crossing tracks. Throughout the city there are street car and muni tracks that are just big enough for a road tire to fit in. For some reason in Seattle the one set of track that you have to hit at an angle it a constant problem. I know a lot of people that have gone down here and they are planning on fixing it but there is still a part...

Baron did 70 miles of ‘product testing’ on Saturday and 100 miles of ‘product testing’ on Sunday; 60 miles of Sunday’s ride looked something like this:

OK, I took that photo off the web, but it was wet and not so warm. There comes a time on an epic ride where you are torn between stopping to warm up and get food and hot drink, or continuing on...

I’ve seen a smaller teaser and it’s pretty phenominal. I can’t wait to see the real deal Feb. 5th.

Snowboarders build a bike car and pedal to Ski...
Last winter, snowboarders Travis Parker, Louie Fountain and Scotty Wittlake built a custom pedal car and drove it, or rode it i guess, to a bunch of ski areas. I gotta hand it to these guys, it’s a great idea albeit a little cold.
For some reason more and more snowboarders are adopting cycling as an off season pursuit, especially cyclocross. I think part of this can be attributed to the...
Thieves hit Bike Works. ("Don't steal bikes Bro")
Baron is no stranger to being burgled after having our car stolen before christmas so we are sad to hear that Bike Works in Seattle was robbed last Friday. It sucks to see an organization that’s trying to give back to the community take a hit like this.
From Bike Works:
We are sad to report that over the last few weeks donated bikes have been stolen from the yard behind Bike Works. The...
Weiner Schnitzel It’s pretty much my favorite food. Unfortunately is was re-appropriated for hot dogs, but this commercial is pretty funny.

Turkey Day
Baron spent Thanksgiving at Peter Line’s house with our homies. It was a true snowboarder vs. cross racer clash. Cory Grove of Cobra Dogs and I made a point to talk ONLY about cycling in front of our snowboarder friends. Eddie Wall sang us a song, Baron Jen won a rousing game of Apples to Apples, probably because i wasn’t on her team. Wille founder of Heart Roasters (also a design...

Cross Clash Day 2
Breakfast from http://www.cyclo-sportif.com/
Day two of the cross clash had me cursing threaded headsets as well of my sense of loyalty to my customers, who’s bikes I put ahead of my own in our queue. And that my friends is why I’m riding a 10 year old trek multitrak that I had collecting dust in the garage.
This course was my nemisis last year, breaking my collarbone in two...
I'm Lovin' what these guys are doing →
I just have a special place in my heart for SIMPLE things. Men’s fashion always trys so hard. Every so often when I’m looking for my annual pant upgrade I’ll head into one of a few fancy mens stores in Seattle with Jen, where we quickly realize two things; what I like and what Jen wants me to like are two different things, and clothing prices are out of hand. Maybe...

Starcrossed: A non-racers perspective
I am not a racer. I am a half-hearted spectator at best, and I ride my bicycle here and there, but without anything qualifying as dedication. It would be an over-statement to say I was dragged to Starcrossed on Saturday; I went willingly, and was even able to muster some enthusiasm, if only because my fashionable flannel was now both appropriate and necessary. The following is my layman’s...
